Yesterday me and Mattias started to try out the application “Moodle”. This is an app that you can use too make pretty slick websites aimed for schools. To get going with Moodle you have to have a LAMP (Linux, Apache, Mysql, and PHP) installation on your computer. And of course you have to make a blank database for Moodle to work with as well. Once you have this you just simply install and configure it and voilá; you now have a pretty boring site which is quite ugly but with a lot of functionality.
The “Beautiful” default theme in Moodle
Of course we didnt settle for that, so we downloaded a few themes for my Moodle site, unpacked it in the theme section of moodle, and talk about upgrade……
There are really nice themes though…
The functionality of this app is pretty good too, you can add courses, students, make quizes, post information, make a course forum, and a lot more.
So all in all I would say a pretty nice app, that I would imagine a lot of schools would want too get their hands on.

För att komma igång med Moodle så måste man ha en LAMP (Linux, Apache, Mysql, och Php) installation på ens dator, och självklart måste man även ha en tom databas som Moodle kan använda sig av. När man har detta så kan man enkelt installera Moodle och konfigurera den och voilá; du har nu en ganska så tråkig hemsida som dessutom är ganska så ful, men den har dock en hel del funktionalitet.

Självfallet så nöjde vi oss inte med detta, utan laddade ner ett antal teman för vår Moodle hemsida, packade upp dom i tema-sektionen i Moodle, och snacka om upgradering.
Det finns riktigt trevliga teman dock
Funktionaliteten av den här applikationen är också rätt så bra, man kan lägga till kurser, studenter, göra frågetester, skapa kursforum, och en hel del andra grejer.
Så i slutsats så skulle jag säga att Moodle är en riktigt trevlig applikation, som jag kan tänka mig att en hel del skolor skulle vilja få tag på.
